The Belly Posi Project!
what it is:
- a visual celebration of the wonderful part of the body that is the midsection!
an encouragement for people with bellies of all types to be celebrated & loved! ♥why we’re doing it:
- the “belly posi project;” is an effort of compassion, acceptance & discussion. the hope of the project is to instill these values not only in those participating in the project, but also to those observing by way of personal messages from each individual involved in the project. above all, i’m just tryin’ to spread some love for the bellies, y’know?
how we’re doing it:
- the project will manifest itself in the form of fifteen triptychs, one for every participant, each with a set of three 11x11 photographic prints of the participants belly; the first print is a drawing of the participant’s belly by yours truly, the second being a naturally lit photograph and the third will be a belly-paint-print. (like fingerpaint, but with a belly, as in a belly covered in paint, printed on paper.) for each triptych, the three prints will be assembled horizontally side-by-side on a matte board, with personal messages & signatures from the participant written on the back. my own signature will also be on the back of every triptych.
who’s involved:
- in addition to myself, 15 participants will be chosen for the project and photographed in groups of 5, at each location. more information is below.
when:
- there will be three shoots total, with five participants at each shoot. the first shoot will be in Morgantown, WV on the 28th of April, the second will take place at my university studio during early May & the last will be held in Waldorf, MD, during the week of May 20th. if you’re near the Morgantown or Southern Maryland areas, or even in the DC Metro Area and would like to be apart of the project, please drop me a message and i’ll provide you with more information!
